Sophia Elizabeth Schneble, arrived right on time with an hour to spare on Novemeber 7, at 11:01pm. It was love at first sight for Derrick and I. She was perfect. Little, weighing in at only 5lbs 3 ozs, but still perfect! She took to nursing right away. She was bright eyed and bushy tailed that whole first night. Despite being exhausted I managed to stay up with her, feeding her for hours.

The next day before we could leave the hospital she had to pass a car seat test. She failed the first 2 tries, so we went and bought a seat made just for infants. Finally she passed, and we were able to take our precious little bundle of joy home around 11pm.

She continues to be a great eater. And at her 1 weeks check-up she had gained a signifigant amount of weight. The peditatrion was very impressed since most babies lose within their first 2 weeks of life. The pediatrition said she was perfect. We are so thankful she is healthy and gaining weight.

Can't wait for you all to meet her. I'm pretty sure you're going to fall in love with her just as we have.

 

We're just past 39 weeks now and still no baby girl. Guess she is enjoying her little home in there. I'm getting anxious to meet her!! Every false labor contraction I have these days gets my hopes up. I've been pregnant for almost 10 months and I'm ready to not be anymore!

This past weekend we drove to Austin TX for the 70.3 Ironman race Derrick has been training for. The weather cooled down a lot the day before, and it was a mere 45 degrees when he jumped in the lake for the swim portion of the race. I think I would have almost been better off jumping in too because the water was about 25 degrees warmer than the air temperature. He made it through all three portions of the event; the1.2-mile swim and the hilly 56-mile bike ride(only popped his tired once), and the 13.1 mile run at the end. For the run portion he wore a full body Ironman(from the movie) costume. He became a celebrity for the day with tons of people asking for pictures with him and the other athletes congratulating him on a job well done.

I was very proud of Derrick, and glad he didn't get hurt like last time! Also we were thankful that baby girl cooperated and didn't decide to come before(or during!) the race.
